About this event
Harold Taddy is the Artistic Director of the avant-garde physical theater troupe The Velvet Noose and designer of the Memorial Art Gallery’s Mindful MAGiC wellness series. His work operates at the threshold where deep meditation dissolves into visceral, cathartic release. At first glance, the serene stillness of a sound bath or yoga practice and the raw, emotionally provocative intensity of his troupe appear to exist on separate planes.
Yet, in Taddy’s creative philosophy, they share a profound core purpose. This talk will demonstrate how both serve as immersive experiences designed to bypass the analytical mind. Whether guiding an audience to ease through resonant vibrations or exploring the full scope of experience through physical storytelling, his work inspires complete presence—inviting participants to confront, feel, and ultimately liberate their held emotions.
