Rochester highlights Vision Zero work during pedestrian safety Month
By Local Rochester news desk
The City of Rochester is highlighting its work to make streets safer for everyone during Pedestrian Safety Month.
A new traffic safety dashboard has been launched, giving residents a closer look at the data driving the city's work.
Mayor Malik D. Evans says, "These recent crashes are a painful reminder of why this work matters. Every person walking on our streets is someone’s mother, father, sister, brother, spouse, or child. Someone was waiting for these loved ones to come home. During Pedestrian Safety Month, I am asking everyone—drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists—to slow down, pay attention, and give each other the space we need to get home safely,"
Residents can explore Rochester’s traffic safety data and learn more about ROC Vision Zero efforts at www.CityofRochester.gov/VisionZero.
